FREE STATE & LESOTHO
The spirit of freedom pervades this former Boer republic. A province of diversity, from sweeping vistas to postcard-pretty mountain scenery. A perfect gateway to the spectacular mountain kingom of LESOTHO and the towering Drakensberg range.
The Free State comprises an extensive system of Parks and Reserves including one National Park, Golden Gate. There are also more than 80 provincial municipal and privately owned nature parks, game reserves and game farms. Free State is the gateway to Lesotho and many of the towns are steeped South African (Anglo Boer War) history. Bloemfontein is an ideal stopover for those travelling from Gauteng to Cape Town by road.
